THE INCUMBENT, GOVERNOR OLUSEGUN MIMIKO WINS ONDO GUBERNATORIAL ELECTIONS

The incumbent Governor of Ondo State, Dr Olusegun Mimiko of the Labour Party has won the State’s governorship election which took place yesterday, Saturday 20th October, 2012, according to results declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Dr Mimiko who garnered 260, 199 votes from 18 local governments, won the election beating two of his main rivals, Olusola Oke of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Barrister Rotimi Akeredolu of the Action Congress Party of Nigeria who scored 155, 961 and 143,512 votes respectively .
