NAVAL HELICOPTER CRASHES IN BAYELSA; KADUNA STATE GOVERNOR PATRICK YAKOWA, AZAZI FEARED DEAD

There are reports that a helicopter has crashed in the creeks of Bayelsa State and search is ongoing according to officials of Nigeria’s National Emergency Management Authority (NEMA). The helicopter conveying politicians from a burial event at Douglas Oronto’s home in Bayelsa State, is believed to have crashed Saturday afternoon at about 4.40pm.

Reports suggest that the helicopter was conveying the Kaduna State Governor, Yakowa and former National Security Adviser, General Owoeye Azazi from the funeral of the father of the Special Adviser to the President, Douglas Oronto to their hotel room in the Bayelsa metropolis – when it crashed into the creeks. The helicopter busted into flames as it crashed.

Although not confirmed yet, reports indicate there are no survivors.
