Manchester United are predicted to win the 2013/2014 Premier League by seven points according to the Euro Club Index (http://www.euroclubindex.com) developed by Infostrada Sports and Hypercube. This statistical model based on the last four years of results predicted last season’s Premier League top seven in the correct order and outperformed bookmakers’ pre-season forecasts in its forecasts of the eventual points per club. A further prediction in January 2013 predicted the exact points totals of both Manchester clubs.
Manchester United’s chance of winning the title is 38% and they are followed by Chelsea (18%), Manchester City (17%) and Arsenal (11%). Those three are very closely matched according to the Euro Club Index and are the most likely to complete the top-4 at the end of the season.
At the other end of the table, newly promoted Crystal Palace and Hull City are expected to be relegated with Southampton joining them back in the 2014/2015 Championship
